2011-2012 PROGRAM & CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

PRESCHOOL PROGRAM:

  • Includes “Budding Ballerinas” and “Dancing Divas”
  • This program introduces the young dancer to basic ballet, jazz, tap, & mat work.
  • Classes focus on body awareness & creative movement. Dancers must be potty trained.
RECREATIONAL PROGRAM:
  • L1 Combo: study ballet, jazz, and tap technique to build a solid dance foundation with emphasis on control, body placement, & rhythm

  • L2-L5 Combos: incorporates int-adv ballet training through barre, center floor, & progressions; int-adv jazz technique with emphasis on extension, control, body placement, style, & tricks

  • Hip Hop: discover the latest “street-style” movements & rhythms of the hip-hop culture

  • Modern: learn modern dance techniques including Limón, Graham, & Horton; explore improvisation & creative movement

  • Tap: designed to promote coordination & rhythm  

  • Leaps, Turns, & Kicks: It's just what the name says! Must be in L3, L3 Vibe, L4, L4 Vibe, or L5 (Intro class for L2)

VIBE PROGRAM:

  • L3 & L4 Vibe Combos: Intense study of ballet and jazz techniques. Average “Vibe” student dances 4+ days each week. Must have permission to enroll.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL COMPANY: 

  • YouthVibe (YV), & SeniorVibe (SV): classes for students enrolled in company

  

*PLEASE NOTE: The combo class is a prerequisite for all additional classes.

CLASS LEVELS

Budding Ballerinas: ages 3-4
Dancing Divas: ages 4-5
Level 1 (L1): 1st-3rd grade
Level 2 (L2): 3rd-5th grade
Level 3 (L3): 5th-8th grade
Level 4 (L4): 8th-10th grade
Level 5 (L5): 10th-12th grade
Intro: 3rd grade & up
Beginner (Beg): 5th grade & up
Intermediate (Int): 8th grade & up
Advanced (Adv): 10th grade & up 

*Note: The grades listed above are an average. The dancer’s level may be adjusted by the instructor. A dancer typically spends 2-3 years in each level.
